Riichi Mahjong is the Japanese variant of mahjong played by four players. The goal is to be the first to complete a winning hand of four sets and one pair (14 tiles) and to finish the game with the most points. You sit at the bottom seat and play against three computer opponents. Play moves counter-clockwise: draw a tile, then discard one, until someone wins or the wall runs out.
There are 136 tiles in total: three number suits — Characters (man, 萬), Circles (pin, 筒) and Bamboo (sou, 索), each numbered 1–9 with four copies — plus the honor tiles: four winds (East 東, South 南, West 西, North 北) and three dragons (White 白, Green 發, Red 中).
A standard winning hand is four sets plus one pair. Special hands include Seven Pairs (chiitoitsu) and Thirteen Orphans (kokushi musou).
When an opponent discards a tile you need, you may call it: Pon (claim a triplet from anyone), Chi (claim a sequence, only from the player to your left), Kan (claim a quad), or Ron (win on a discard). Calling tiles opens your hand and forfeits some concealed-only yaku.
A hand must contain at least one yaku (scoring pattern) to win. If your hand is concealed and one tile away from completion (tenpai), you can declare Riichi by betting 1,000 points — this is itself a yaku and reveals an extra dora indicator (ura-dora) if you win. Common yaku include Tanyao (all simples), Pinfu, Yakuhai (value triplets), Honitsu and Chinitsu (flushes). Your score is calculated from han (yaku value) and fu (minor points), with dora adding extra han. The winner is paid by all players on a self-draw (tsumo) or by the discarder on a ron.
リーチ麻雀は4人で行う日本式の麻雀です。4つの面子（メンツ）と1つの雀頭（じゃんとう）＝14枚で和了（あがり）の形を最初に完成させ、最終的に最も多くの点数を獲得することが目的です。あなたは下家（手前の席）に座り、3人のAIと対戦します。プレイは反時計回りに進み、ツモ（1枚引く）→打牌（1枚捨てる）を繰り返します。
牌は全部で136枚。数牌（シューパイ）として萬子（マンズ）・筒子（ピンズ）・索子（ソーズ）の3種が各1〜9で4枚ずつ、加えて字牌（ジハイ）として風牌（東・南・西・北）と三元牌（白・發・中）があります。
基本の和了形は4面子＋1雀頭です。特殊形として七対子（チートイツ）や国士無双（コクシムソウ）もあります。
相手が必要な牌を捨てたとき、鳴くことができます。ポン（誰からでも刻子）、チー（左隣＝上家からのみ順子）、カン（槓子）、ロン（捨て牌で和了）。鳴くと手牌が「開いた」状態になり、門前限定の役は消えます。
和了には最低1つの役が必要です。手牌が門前でテンパイ（あと1枚）なら、1000点を供託してリーチを宣言できます。リーチ自体が役で、和了すれば裏ドラもめくれます。代表的な役にタンヤオ・ピンフ・役牌・混一色（ホンイツ）・清一色（チンイツ）などがあります。点数は翻（ハン）と符（フ）から計算され、ドラが翻を加算します。ツモなら全員から、ロンなら放銃者から支払われます。
